hahnemuhle sumi-e paper

This work is a continuation of the series Burnings Variations, but now presented and built up in modules – based on 4 simple diagonals of A, B, C, and D. The aim is that with these 4 elements plus light, you have ‘infinite’ possibilities of re-arranging and thus creating your own setup of the work.
The cards are a graphic solution to give visitors an option to physically play and also to give some insight in my work – process. Not only for this work this play is relevant, but it is also a part of my other works.
I like the idea of play – my work may be meticulous and slow, but nevertheless I love to play – either with materiality or stretching the boundaries of my own rules (of my game) – it energizes me in my work and helps me to continue and discover more options and ways to proceed and makes it fun.
